A chemical peel, also known as chemexfoliation, is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin. In this treatment, we apply a chemical solution to the skin, which causes it to blister and eventually peel off. After a chemical peel, our patients from Winter Park, Orlando, Tampa, Melbourne, Daytona Beach, and other nearby areas usually develop new, regenerated skin that is smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin.

We use the chemicals phenol, trichloroacetic acid (TCA), and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) for chemical peels. When performing these procedures for Orlando men and women, we adjust the precise formula to meet each patient’s needs.
Although we offer chemical peels in conjunction with facelift procedures, they are not substitutes for surgery, nor will they prevent or slow the aging process.
A DiamondGlow® resurfacing treatment addresses many of the same concerns as a chemical peel. Patients who are interested in non-surgical facial rejuvenation may also benefit from BOTOX® Cosmetic or dermal fillers such as Restylane®.

Read Patient StoriesWe perform chemical peels as outpatient procedures at Primera Surgery Center. A full facial peel takes an average of 1 hour. Depending on the strength of your chemical peel, you may require no anesthesia, sedation, or general anesthesia.
Phenol peel patients are likely to form new skin after 2 to 3 weeks, return to their normal routines after 2 to 4 weeks, and experience some redness for 3 to 6 months. Results are permanent, although wrinkles may occur as the skin continues to age.
TCA peel patients tend to form new skin after 5 to 10 days and experience some pinkness for 1 month. Results can last 3 to 5 years.
Patients should avoid sun exposure for 3 months after a chemical peel.
