How will this procedure help me?
This procedure will improve sagging facial skin, jowls, and loose neck skin by removing excess fat, tightening muscles, and redraping skin. We mostly perform this procedure on men and women over 40.
How long will this take?
The entire procedure will take approximately 3-4 hours.
What type of anesthesia do you use?
We require general anesthesia for this procedure.
Is this an inpatient or outpatient procedure?
This is an outpatient procedure at Primera Surgery Center.
What are the common side effects?
Temporary bruising, swelling, numbness and tenderness of skin; tight feeling.
What are my risks?
Injury to the nerves that control facial muscles or feeling (usually temporary but may be permanent). Infection, bleeding. Poor healing; excessive scarring. Asymmetry or change in hairline (uncommon).
How long is the recovery time?
Back to work: 10 to 14 days. More strenuous activity: 2 weeks or more. Bruising: 2 to 3 weeks. Must limit exposure to sun for several months. Note: Depending on the condition of the face and neck prior to surgery, 6-8% of cases may require a second procedure.
How long will I enjoy my results?
Usually 10 years. Sometimes permanent.

I don’t know where to begin setting to words my surgical experience. From the first visit to the office, I felt confident that I had found the right surgeon. Dr. Gross were referred to me a few years ago, before the reality had set in that I would actually go through any facial enhancement.
One of the concerns that I had was the time crunch of my daughter’s wedding, which was seven weeks from the surgery. I had a lot of anxiety concerning the recovery time, and was very brave (or crazy) to schedule surgery that close. I had several procedures done at the same time and was especially worried about the laser surgery on my skin.
It all worked out great. I had so many compliments on my appearance, and no one was the wiser. I looked 10 years younger! How do you thank someone who has made you look 10 years younger?
The recover play I followed put me back into service very quickly. I felt it was crucial to follow the post-op care to the T. I also am amazed at not being able to see any scars. AMAZING!

My tip to plastic surgery:
Be prepared before your surgery by taking care of your eating and drinking habits. Drink plenty of water and relaxing in the weeks before your surgery.
Buy everything on your pre-op list and your prescriptions well in advance of your surgery date. Your pharmacy may not have your prescription needs and may need time to obtain your drugs.
I followed all the information supplied by Dr. Gross and I had no pain and the bruising was gone within two weeks, when I returned to work.
Some friends and co-workers wanted to know where I went on vacation because I looked great and well rested. Of course I didn’t tell…but I will tell you…THIS WAS THE BEST VACATION EVER! This is one vacation that will last for years to come.
I can’t thank Dr. Gross enough or tell him enough about how happy I am. He truly is the best plastic surgeon.
I must tell you his staff will make you feel like family.
