Fraxel® Laser – CAQ

What does Fraxel Laser treat?

Regardless of the level of sun damage you have, or if you just want prevention and maintenance, there’s a Fraxel® treatment for you. The Fraxel family of treatments has multiple FDA clearances. These include:

    re:store ®

  • Sun Damage and Collagen Stimulation
  • Fine lines around the eyes
  • Pigmented areas (age spots, sun spots, and freckles)
  • Discoloration and uneven pigmentation
  • Melasma (mask of pregnancy)
  • Acne scars
  • Surgical scars

In short, Fraxel treatment creates smoother, fresher, healthier and younger-looking skin…improved tone, texture and pore size…and the softening of wrinkles and lines.

How does Fraxel re:store® treatment work?
Fraxel re:store laser is an Erbium- based laser which targets aging and sun-damaged skin with microscopic laser columns that penetrate into your skin to expedite your body’s remodeling of collagen. And since the laser treats only a fraction of tissue at a time, it leaves the surrounding tissue intact, which promotes very rapid healing. Fraxel re:store treatment resurfaces your skin by stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin cells from the inside out. It is not as strong as traditional CO2 lasers and has less downtime.

How much down time is there with Fraxel Laser?

Minimal. Patients only need to miss one day of work for this treatment, depending on skin response. Most often, there is a light pink color and minimal swelling for 24 hrs. after Fraxel Laser in Orlando.

How many treatments will I need?

Generally, a series of 4 treatments are recommended for best results.  These are spaced ~1 month apart to allow for healing.  Additional Fraxel re:store sessions may be needed for problem areas and can be discussed with Dr. Gross during your Consultation.

Is anesthesia required for Fraxel Laser?

No. Topical numbing cream is applied 45 minutes prior to treatment and a stream of cool air provides relief from any discomfort. An ice pack is applied after treatment and recommended the night of treatment to minimize swelling.
