Our eyes are often our connection to the world and the people around us, but they’re also among the first areas of the face to convey signs of aging. Fortunately, there are many different ways to combat these changes and prevent them from worsening. From dermal fillers such as Restylane® to BOTOX® Cosmetic, my Orlando practice offers a full range of eye rejuvenation treatments aimed at turning back the clock and giving you a refreshed, youthful look.
Read on to learn more about a few of the most common signs of eye aging and your best options for treating them.
Crow’s Feet
Crow’s feet are dynamic wrinkles that form around the outer corners of your eyes. They appear after years of repeated squinting and smiling that cause the skin to bunch up and become wrinkled.
Best solution: Injecting BOTOX (or its sister product, Dysport®) around your eyes will relax the muscles in the area and smooth away wrinkles for 3 to 4 months. Learn more about the differences between BOTOX and Dysport in this previous blog post.

Undereye Bags
Undereye bags are deposits of fat that collect under your eyes and cause bulges in your tear troughs. If you have noticed puffiness under your eyes that has become more pronounced over the years, these fat deposits are likely the cause.
Best solution: Dermal fillers (typically Restylane) injected around the bags will disguise them for several months until the filler naturally dissolves. If you have severe bags and are looking for a longer-lasting solution, lower eyelid surgery may be a better option for you.
Undereye Hollows
These dark, hollowed circles under the eyes give you a tired appearance even when you’re fully rested. They’re caused by a loss of volume during the aging process and, in some cases, genetics.
Best solution: Tear trough filler (Restylane) will fill in the area and create a brighter, smoother look. Results typically last several months.

Falling Brows
Like many other areas of the face, brows droop or sag as you age. This often creates a tired or worn-out look that makes you appear older than you are.
Best solution: BOTOX subtly lifts the outer brow by relaxing the facial muscles that pull down on it. These results last for 3 to 4 months. In some more advanced cases, brow lift surgery may be a better, longer-lasting solution.
Drooping Eyelids
Sagging upper eyelids caused by a loss of collagen are one of the most common signs of aging in the eyes. Severely drooping upper eyelids may even obstruct your vision in addition to causing an aged look.
Best solution: A subtle eye lift with BOTOX may give your eyes a brighter, fresher look. If your eyelids are significantly drooping, eyelid surgery may be a more effective approach for you.
