What Is the Lid Lift Goggle? Learn More About the Latest Advancement in Eyelid Surgery

Want to recover faster after eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) in Orlando? Bruising and swelling are par for the course after this popular rejuvenation procedure, but advancements in technology make recuperation quicker and easier than ever. “I’m thrilled to provide all of my blepharoplasty patients with the Lid Lift Goggle, says Dr. Gross. It’s a new device designed to help you get back to your life—and to enjoy your results—much faster.”

What exactly is the Lid Lift Goggle, and how will they make your eyelid surgery experience even better? Read on to learn more.

What Are Lid Lift Goggles?

The Lid Lift Goggle is a device, much like ski goggles, applied immediately after eyelid surgery to reduce swelling and bruising for a faster recovery. The foam inserts apply light pressure to the eyelids to reduce swelling. There are no fans , USB ports, or batteries. The goggles have been proven to significantly decrease recovery times and improve the healing experience. This means you can get back to your normal routine faster without worrying about covering dark marks or puffiness around your eyes with camouflage makeup.

How Do Lid Lift Goggles Work?

The goggles apply gentle pressure around your eyes to prevent capillary leakage. “This leakage is the main cause of bruising and swelling, so keeping the area compressed is an excellent way to keep it clear of excess bleeding or fluid buildup,” says Dr. Gross.

You will wear them 80% of the day and night for the first 48 to 72 hours after your surgery as the soft tissues around your eyes heal. People who wear them for just these first couple of days often look like they have been healing for an entire week.

While the goggles will keep your eyes cool, I recommend a hybrid approach of alternating wearing the goggles with applying ice to your eyes. I find this is the most effective way to limit swelling and bruising as much as possible, according to Dr. Gross.

Does the Lid Lift Goggle Really Work?

In clinical studies, people who wore the Lid Lift Goggle had 3 times less bruising at 4 to 6 days after surgery and 5 times less bruising at 12 to 14 days after surgery. People who tried them definitely noticed the difference themselves. When surveyed, 87% of patients said the goggles dramatically improved their healing process.
