This 22-year-old man from Orlando, FL, had been bothered by his protruding ears since middle school. Dr. Gross performed a bilateral otoplasty (using Mustarde and Furnas techniques) in our Lake Mary surgery center as an outpatient procedure. Surgery was completed in 2 hours, and we used Exparel (a long-lasting anesthetic) to reduce post-op discomfort. He is very happy, and his ears look natural. Incisions are hidden behind the ears so there are no visible scars. Sutures dissolve in 1 week.
