JUVÉDERM fillers are specially formulated with lidocaine, an anesthetic, for comfort during treatment. We may also elect to use a topical numbing cream called BLT, which is highly effective at pain relief, to numb the treatment area before your injections. Your practitioner eases the JUVÉDERM under the skin, where wrinkles and folds occur, to replace lost skin volume. Following the injection, we may gently massage the treated areas. View our loyalty programs See our current specialsBecause JUVÉDERM is a simple, nonsurgical wrinkle treatment, it requires little to no recovery or downtime. You may experience minor discomfort, tenderness, temporary redness, swelling, bruising, or firmness at the injection sites. While experiences vary, these symptoms are usually mild to moderate in nature and clear up on their own in 7 days or fewer. For your comfort, you can apply an ice pack to the injection sites.
To reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site, we recommend avoiding medications that can encourage bleeding, such as aspirin and ibuprofen, for at least a week prior to your JUVÉDERM treatment.
JUVÉDERM treatments generally last from 6 months to 1 year, depending on the location of your injection, the formula used, how quickly your body breaks down the filler, and several other factors. Touch-up treatments help maintain your results.
